Hair is an important part of our appearance. Normally we lose 50-100 hairs daily. When this number increases considerably, then we may be experiencing hair loss.
What are the causes of Hair Loss?
The hair is affected by hormonal factors, age, stress, various illnesses, and medication. As we age the rate of hair growth decreases, it is likely to develop hair loss (alopecia) due to either normal or pathological factors.
Hair loss has a genetic predisposition and can be manifested in men and women since the age of 18. There have been cases where hair loss has been observed in adolescence, especially in men.
In men, hair loss is mainly due to heredity. The hair begins to recede from the temple, forehead and top of the head.
In women, hair thinning can occur at any time and is not always affected by age.
