Stem cells are the most prevalent method of treatment for the problem of hair loss that afflicts men and women.
What are stem cells?
Stem cells are the primitive hematopoietic cells which are found in the bone marrow from where they can be easily removed for study and other uses. Stem cells are superior to other cells because of their ability to reproduce in a short time or to differentiate into cells of other types.
How is stem cell therapy performed?
Stem cell therapy is divided into three main stages. In the first stage, local anaesthesia is applied to the abdominal area and fat is taken from the area using a fine needle. The collected sample is placed in a special centrifuge where it is centrifuged at 3500 rpm for about 8 minutes. The stem cells are then isolated and the final product is applied in the form of injections to the area of thinning or hair loss.
The procedure is harmless, as no drugs are used and painless as it is done with very fine needles.
